A little more from Canmore and area

Just wanted to post a few more photos from our trip out west =) We had an amazing time on our little trip, but are definitely happy to be home. Being in such a relaxed environment, as well as feel such accomplishment climbing a mountain, it will definitely be a trip we won’t soon forget.

A 7900ft Climb to Ha Ling Peak

Yesterday was a day full of incredible self accomplishment. As two prairie folk the idea of climbing a mountain is nothing short of HUGE! We decided while out in Canmore, it would only make sense that we attempt this lofty goal of making it all the way up to the summit of at least one mountain.

It was a climb that took us more then 3000ft up the back side to the peak, and the feeling of sitting at the top, staring down at the world was amazing. It terms of altitude, we actually tossed snowballs at each other in July =) It was an amazing feeling of accomplishment, one of those, “I can do anything!!” moments =)

The Mountains.

There is a place I always feel truly at peace. A place that puts the grand size of the world in perspective. The first time I traveled to the Rockies as a kid, I was absolutely in awe, the shear size of these bent, twisted pieces of rock, for someone from the prairies it was beyond amazing.

I have to say we have some of the best clients in the world. We were invited to Canmore by one of our couples who let us borrow their home while they vacation at the cabin in BC, and needless to say we jumped at the opportunity. We are out in Canmore relaxing, recharging, and dreaming. Being here we also get to fulfil a dream of ours and photograph a couple of ours in such a rugged beautiful landscape. We absolutely cannot wait =)

All of the below photos were shot on the iPhone for those wondering. More to come!

Antique Engagement – Kathryn + Wes

Both Kathryn & Wes work behind the scenes in the film industry, and are passionate about art of every kind. Their home is a fitting reflection of their creative, one of a kind and genuine characters, filled with an eclectic assortment of collectables, knick-knacks and antiques. We began their session there, within the compilation of their treasures, later moving to an antique store to join them within one of their favourite past-times. We love this couple and love the unintentional symbology within this engagement session! Two people accumulating throughout their lives, coming together, then collecting together:) Love!

We’ll be joining Kathryn and Wes on their wedding adventure next April, beginning with their elopement in New York, followed by more festivities and celebrations with family and friends back here in Winnipeg the following weekend. Can’t wait!
